Red Label BASIC Drum 20/25 | Gravity

Professional Drum Filtration System for Koi and Ornamental Ponds
Model: BASIC Drum 20/25 | Gravity-Fed and Pump-Fed Versions

A koi or ornamental pond is a precision-managed aquatic environment where mechanical separation and water clarity directly influence fish health and system reliability. The Red Label BASIC Drum 20/25 is engineered to deliver professional-grade mechanical and ultraviolet filtration in a compact, space-efficient platform suitable for small to medium pond installations.

Designed for installers, dealers, and serious pond keepers, the BASIC Drum 20/25 provides consistent water clarity, reduced maintenance, and dependable performance under continuous operating conditions.

High-Performance Mechanical Filtration

The BASIC Drum 20/25 utilises a precision-engineered stainless steel filter panel with a 120-micron mesh, capable of retaining fine suspended solids before waste is discharged from the system. This level of mechanical separation significantly reduces suspended debris and delivers consistently clear pond water.

Integrated Flushing Pump and Drum Controller

An internal flushing pump and dedicated drum controller automatically initiate cleaning cycles when contamination thresholds are reached. This automation ensures consistent waste removal, minimises manual intervention, and supports long-term operational reliability.

Built-In 40-Watt UVC Clarifier

Fitted as standard with a built-in 40-watt UVC Clarifier, the BASIC Drum 20/25 is designed to suppress algae, bacteria, and waterborne pathogens. Integrating ultraviolet treatment directly into the filtration process maintains optimal hydraulic flow and eliminates the need for external UV equipment in the pipework.

Patented Drum Sealing and Double Brush Cleaning System

All Red Label drum filters are equipped with a patented, UV-resistant drum sealing system that prevents water bypass and protects critical components from ultraviolet exposure, extending service life. The double brush cleaning system ensures the drum screen and waste discharge channel remain clear, reducing buildup and routine maintenance requirements.

Ideal for Small to Medium Ponds

With a maximum flow capacity of 25,000 litres per hour (5,500 UK gallons per hour), the BASIC Drum 20/25 is suitable for a wide range of small to medium pond installations requiring reliable, high-throughput mechanical and ultraviolet filtration.

Gravity vs Pump-fed

Gravity-Fed vs Pump-Fed Model Comparison

Feature Gravity-Fed Version Pump-Fed Version
Installation Method Installed at pond water level; water flows naturally into the filter by gravity Installed above or away from pond level; water is delivered to the filter via an external pump
Energy Efficiency High efficiency due to reduced main circulation pumping Dependent on external pump power and system head height
Hydraulic Stability Provides stable, constant flow with minimal head loss Flow rate regulated by pump selection and installation layout
Noise Profile Very low Moderate, dependent on external pump type
Maintenance Access Typically installed in a filter pit for discreet, professional installations Flexible placement for easier access in above-ground setups
Recommended Applications Permanent koi and ornamental pond builds and professional installations Raised ponds, retrofits, and sites where gravity flow is not practical
